We are happy that you are considering Ste. Anne’s Church for your ceremony.

Ste. Anne’s is a very popular wedding site on Mackinac Island.  Since marriage is a sacred sacrament of the Catholic Church, prior to the ceremony the couple will have had to meet all requirements of a catholic wedding regarding preparations, paperwork, annulments, etc.

The bride or groom must be a practicing catholic.

The couple must have all sacramental preparations organized from within their local parish prior to their wedding ceremony at Ste. Anne’s Church.

Fees

The fee for using the church ranges from $750-$1500.00 depending on the day of the week, time of season and availability.

A $700.00 Deposit will be required to secure your wedding date.

The remaining $800.00 fee will be due two months after the initial deposit was sent.

If you cancel this date for any reason, only $100.00 of the fee will be refundable.

After the ceremony is complete their will be an inspection of the Church premises.  If damage has occurred an additional $300.00 will be charged if the guidelines were not followed.

The Rules & Policies of Ste. Anne’s Church for Weddings

• The Church does not provide clergy or musicians.
  
• Changing rooms are not available; however, there is a waiting area in the lower level for the bridal party.
  
• Please refrain from using flower petals, birdseed, rice, bubbles, etc. during or after the ceremony.  Also, no Aisle runners may be used.
  
• Please do not use tacks, nails, push pins, tape, etc. for decorating pews or church.
  
• Please supply your own unity candle and decorations.
  
• No Candles other than the unity candle shall be used.
  
• Up to four floral arrangements may be used near the altar and must be removed after the ceremony.
  
• Photographers are welcome to photograph from anywhere except the altar.
  
• Altar servers and lectors are not required, but if you have friends or relatives willing to serve, this is welcomed.
  
• Ste. Anne’s pastor does not perform the wedding ceremonies.  You may bring your own priest or deacon.  If that is not an option, Fr. Norbert Landerville from St. Ignace does many Island weddings. You may reach him at (906)-643-8897.
  
• Due to a full summer staff at Ste. Anne’s it is not possible for the visiting priests to stay at the rectory.
  
• The piano is not to be moved.  If damages occur to the piano, you will incur an additional fee for repair.
  
• If you cancel this date for any reason, only a portion of the fee is refundable.  Fee information is available through our wedding coordinator.
  
• No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.
  

Initial Requirements

The following are initial requirements for preparing for a wedding at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church on Mackinac Island:

• Weddings can be performed Sunday through Friday at 1:00 PM-4:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
  
• You must provide a letter on parish stationery from the celebrant/deacon who will be performing your ceremony stating that he takes full responsibility for the service.
  
• Please call ahead to schedule your rehearsal time.
  
• Your parish will be responsible for your marriage preparation.
  
• You will be required to provide the following necessary church documents when you book your wedding at Ste. Anne’s Church:
  
  • Pre-nuptial investigation or A form
  • Current baptismal records
  • Documentation of Marriage preparation classes
  • Any dispensations and/or annulments that may be required
  • Letter of permission from pastor of home parish to be married at Ste. Anne’s
  • You must furnish a copy of marriage license 3 days prior to the wedding
